The press, or more generally, various types of news publications, have been around for centuries. Their presence in Przemyśl dates back to the 18th century. However, regularly published newspapers only began in the second half of the 19th century, or even in the 1970s. Some of them appeared for only a few years, others for several decades. Most were published twice a week. They also reflected the differences in political views of the city’s residents, particularly from the 1890s. Among the well-known dailies are: Dziennik Przemyski, “Echo Przemyskie,” “Echo znad Sanu,” “Gazeta Przemyska,” “Głos Przemyski” and “Nowy Głos Przemyski,” “Kuryer Przemyski,” “Przemyśl Review,” “San,” and “Ziemia Przemyska.”
